Ghattu village has 200 year of history, its ruled by the independent Kings of krishnadeva rayalu and after that the Kings became zamindars of the Gattu Samstanm and ruled by Gattu Venkatappa Nayunivaru (Pala- ekari Dora ) and his father built the temple. Gattu hill is symbol of history and still we can find old fort and temple sarroung of ghattu. one of the political leadar Ghattu narasinga Rao, he was born in this village.
Ghattu village famous for Srivenkateswara swamy temple, every year people wil celebrate lacal fair.
It famous for file shooting, few of films(lakshmi kalyanam and Badili etc, ) done here only, its very near to Horsilly Hills.
Reddivaripalli in gattu is very famous for lord Shiva temple and here for every 7 years there is a festival like yeddu noomu it's cost of 10 lakhs expenditure on that occasion
