Sadras is town located 70 km from Chennai towards the South and was before Sadras is an ancient town of Chadhuranga Pattinam. Sadras was ruled by the Sambuvarayars during the latter half of 14th century and later by Vijayanagara rulers. Sadras was established as part of Dutch Coromandel in the seventeenth century and was well known for its weaving superfine muslin cloth for exporting. It is famous for Dutch port .The British overthrew the Dutch after a series of battles in 1854 and occupied Sadras. The town of Sadras is placed between the Madras Atomic Power Station and the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, both located close to Kalpakkam, it’s an admirable place to spend and however, the Sadras fort and its diverse charms give tourists. PLACES TO SEE

Dutch Fort
The 400-year-old Dutch fort is the prime attraction. Archaeological Survey of India has done wide excavations lately and has restored the fort. Dutch settlements of Pulicat and Nagapatnam find references in the inscriptions found in the fort. The fort is 100-meter wide, 100-meter long, and has a few small rooms, gallows, and a couple of old cannons at the gate.
