Mysore
Mysore is the hot tourist destination and holds the legacy of being the second largest city of Karnataka. It is located at the foot hills of Chamundi Hills and is very famous for its Dussehra celebrations which attract thousands of tourists to visit this city. It is agarden city and a cultural capital of Karnataka. The ten days of Dussehra celebration is the highlighting feature of Mysore which was started during the period of King Raja Wodeyar in the year of 1610. On Mahanavami, ninth days of festival, an imperial sword is worshipped and ornamented camels and elephants will carry the processions. Mysore is also known as Palace city where one can see large number of palaces with outstanding architecture and elegance. Mysore palace is among the famous one, which is best visited in evenings, when the entire palace is sparkling with decorated lamps and lights. Mysore garden, fountain show and Chamundeeshwari temple are other most visiting sights in Mysore.

Places to visit

Mysore Palace
It is the magnificent building located in city center. It is clean evidence of ancient architecture and royal existence. The serene beauty of this palace is mind blowing in evenings when the whole palace is decorated with sparkling lights and lamps.

Chamundeeshwari Temple
It is located on Chamundeeshwari hills. The journey to uphill is most enjoyable moment where cool breeze and aroma of surrounding forest are simple awesome. It is devoted to Goddess Chamnundi Devi and one of the must visiting places in Mysore.

Brindavan Garden
It is worth to visit the garden in midafternoon so that one can enjoy the pleasant weather, colorful flowers and various decorative plants and bushes. Fountain show is the top attraction here.

Other Places
St. Philomena’s Church, Gumbaz, Jama Masjid, Talakad and Nanjanagud are other popular picnic spots in and around Mysore.
