Hazaribagh
The central portion of the Indian state of Jharkhand contains the city named Hazaribagh. It is one of the many districts of the state. The word ‘Hazaribagh’ stands for the meaning ‘collection of thousand gardens’. The city is located at an altitude of 2019 feet above the sea level. It is quite a popular hill resort among the tourists. The weather conditions of this location are very enjoyable and so is the natural beauty surround this place.
PLACES TO VISIT IN HAZARIBAGH
Canary Hill: The location of Canary Hills is situated near the town. One can find three sparkling lakes here and also a well maintained park. One can obtain a spectacular glimpse of the surrounding area from the summit of the hill.
Wild Life Sanctuary: For the people, who are an ardent lover of nature and wild life, this place is an ideal location. One can see the wild bear, sambhar, nilgai, chital, sloth bears, tigers, panthers and many more species of animals here.
Suryakund: This place is basically a hot spring, which is located at a distance of 72 Kms from Hazaribagh. 169-190 degree Fahrenheit is the temperature range of the water of the spring. One can also find a cold spring here. The sulphur content in the water has many good effects. Surya Kund, Lakshman kund, Brahm Kund, Ram kund and Sita Kund are the names of the five kunds, which are located here.
Isko Village: The distance between the district headquarters of Hazaribagh and the village named Isko is 45 Kms. The archeological findings in this region back up the existence of an archaic civilization, which is supposed to be existent in the area in between the Damodar River and the numerous hills of the Chotanagpur plateau region. The existence of the rock paintings, which are found in this area, can be traced back to almost 10,000 years back, while those of the cave paintings can be traced back to the time period of the mid stone age, that is almost as many as 30,000 years back.
Rajrappa Temple: At the point, where the two rivers namely the Damodar River and Bhairavi River meet, the location named Rajrappa is situated. This place is also called Bhera. Previously, this spot contained one little Chhinmastika Temple; however now it is a pretty famous location for the Hindu pilgrims. The temple of Chhinmastika is very ancient. One can also found other numerous temples around this archaic temple.
Satpahar: One can find sets of triadic ranges here at this location. This place should be considered to be the best rock art galleries in the entire world for the presence of the numerous rock paintings. Several paintings of zoo-morphs, anthro-morphs, fish, grasshoppers, spotted deer, cattle, small animals like rodents and ritually arranged frogs can be found here on the sandstone.
Badam: In this village named Barkagaon, one can find an ancient fort. The existence of the fort can be traced back to the time of 1642 AD. One can also find Lord Shiva Temples, which originated during the time period of 17th Century AD.
Barakatta: A block head quarter having ruins of a temple near the spring of the village. There are 5 sculptured pieces of stone inside the temple.
Banda: Ruins of hand axes are found dating back to the Paleolithic Age.
Hazaribagh Lake: One can enjoy fun activities in the Hazaribagh Lake.
Tilaiya Dam: One can obtain spectacular glimpses of the surroundings from this small hillock. This location is located on the opposite side of the river named Barakar.
Urwan Tourist Complex: Fun activities such as boating, para-sailing, rock climbing and many more can be done here.
Khandhar: Located along the hill range named Satpahar, Khandhar is a little rock art location.

By Air: The nearest air terminal is located in Ranchi.
By Rail: The closest railway station is located in Koderma.
By Road: This town has good links with other locations via good roads.
