Ambikapur

The state of Chhattisgarh contains the city named Ambikapur in the district named Surguja. The district of Surguja is the biggest district among all the districts in Chhattisgarh in terms of area. The administrative headquarters of the district is located in Ambikapur. This city also functions as the Ambikapur Division’s divisional headquarter. The three districts of Surguja, Korea and Jashpur make up the Ambikapur Division. Before India gained independence, this city of Ambikapur used to serve Surguja state as its capital. From the name of Ambika Devi, the goddess, the name of the city has been taken. 

                         HOW TO REACH AMBIKAPUR

By Rail: The Anuppur Railway junction is linked to Ambikapur. The Anuppur junction is a neighboring town in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Anuppur, Katni,Satna, Jabalpur, Durg, Bhopal and Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh, are all linked to Ambikapur via numerous trains. Trains to other major cities and places of India can be accessed from trains originating from the Anuppur Railway Station.

By Road: The road links of Ambikapur to other cities are quite good and well maintained. One can access this place via buses, private cars and taxis. 

By Air: The closest air terminal is situated in Raipur, which is the capital city of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. From here, flights operate at regular intervals.
