History of Village Rauke Kalan.

Village of Rauke Kalan, was founded by Dhaliwal Jatt Zamindar Chaudhri Rau Dhaliwal who hailed from the Kangar Dhaula area of Barnala all located in the Malva Region of Panjab. Dhaliwal Jatts have 120 villages around Nihal Singh Wala, Badhni Kalan and Kangar and this area is known as Dhaliwal Tappa. 

Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee, the Sixth Guru of the Sikh Faith, came to Rauke Kalan, during his stay In Rauke near the Haveli of Dhaliwal Jatt Chaudhries in the middle of village, the Dhaliwal Jatts became Sikhs of the Guru. The village Sikh congregation built a platform on the site and later a Dharamshala or Gurdwara was built over the site. 

Chaudhri Dasaunda Singh Dhaliwal, of Rauke Kalan who during the Sikh Misl Period, was a influential Sardar had a daughter the famous Mai Sadda Kaur born in year 1762 AD. She at small age was married to Sardar Gurbaksh Singh Sandhu (1759-1785), the son of Sardar Jai Singh (1712-1789), of Kanhaiya Misl based in Batala, Fatehgarh Churian area. During the 18th Century the Village of Rauke was surrounded to the east by the Muslim Rajput Rais of Raikot, North Sikh Dallewalia Misl and to west the state of Faridkot Sikh Brar Jatts, to south the Sikh Sidhu Jatt Phulkian Kingdoms.
