paturu has about 300 years history. two ancient temples of lord shiva and janardhana swami temple are the pride of people.it is 46 kms near to visakhapatnam. politically disturbed weather అతిపురాతనమైన గ్రామం. మా ఊరు అసలు పేరు పాతవూరు. అంటే ఊరు పేరు లేదు వాడుకలో పాత వూరు అదే పాటూరు గా మారినది.మా 11, 12 శతాబ్దంలో కళింగ రాజ్యాన్ని పరిపాలించిన తూర్పు గాంగుల రాజు నరసింహారాజు కాలంలోనిది. అందుకు ఆధారంగా పురాతన శ్రీ జనార్ధన స్వామివారి దేవాలయం, శ్రీ లోకనాద స్వామివారి దేవాలయాలు, అంతే కాక పురాతన శిలా శాసనం కూడా ఉన్నది. సదరు శిలా శాసనం పురావస్తు శాఖవారికి విశాఖపట్నం ఫోటో పంపగా వారు 11,12 శతాబ్దాల నాటి దాన శాసనం అని తెలిపారు. మా గ్రామం లో గ్రామదేవతలు నాలుగు దిక్కులలో వున్నారు. పైడితల్లమ్మ తల్లి, బంగారమ్మ తల్లి, ముత్యాలమ్మ తల్లి, దుర్గాపార్వతి తల్లి, దుర్గా లమ్మ తల్లి, మరిడమ్మ తల్లి గ్రామదేవతలు కాక రామలయాలు రెండు ఉన్నవి. మా గ్రామాన్ని దేవాలయాల గ్రామంగా చెప్పవచ్చు. ప్రతి దేవాలయాన్ని భక్తులు నూతనంగా నిర్మించి పూజాదికాలు నిర్విఘ్నంగా కొనసాగేటట్టు ఏర్పాట్లు చేశారు. మరియు నూతనంగా శ్రీ షిర్డీ సాయిబాబా వారి దేవాలయం నిర్మించి పూజలు నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. విజయనగరం రాజులు, మరియు శృంగవరపుకోట ను పరిపాలించిన శ్రీ ముఖి కాశీపతిరాజుగారు మా గ్రామంలోని దేవాలయాలు సందర్శించడం జరిగినది అని పెద్దలు చెప్పుకోవడం వలన తెలియ వచ్చుచున్నవి. పురాతన శ్రీ జనార్ధన స్వామి వారు, మరియు శ్రీ లోకనాధ స్వామి వారికి సంబంధించి కోనేరు కలదు. పూర్వపు రాజులు టి టి టి అనగా టెంపుల్(దేవాలయం), టౌన్(గ్రామం) ట్యాంక్( చెరువు) సూత్రం అనుసరించి దేవాలయాలు నిర్మించారని తెలుస్తుంది. వ్యవసాయానికి సంబంధించి రాజులు చెరువు తవ్వించారు. ఆ చెరువు నేటికి రాజచేరువు పేరుతో ఉన్నది. సదరు చెరువు వ్యవసాయానికి ఉపయోగపడుతుంది. మా గ్రామంలో వ్యవసాయం వర్షాధారం. వర్షాలు పడితే చెరువులు నిండి ఆ నీటితో వ్యవసాయం చేస్తారు. 11,12 శతాబ్దాల సమయంలో ఘటికాలు అనగా కులరహితంగా అందరుకు విద్యను, హిందూ పురాణాలు, ఆచారాలను మంచిచెడ్డలను తెలిపే స్థలం వుండేవని కాలక్రమంలో గురుపీఠం గా మార్పులు చేసుకున్నామని నేడు పెద్దలు తెలియజేస్తున్నారు. అప్పుడు ఆచారం మా గ్రామంలో పెద్దలు నేటికి పాటిస్తూ నేడు పెళ్లిళ్లు అయిన ప్రతిజంట పల్లకిలో ఊరేగుతూ వచ్చి పల్లకి దిగి ఆ పీఠం వద్ద కూర్చుని గురుపీఠం వంశస్థులు చే ఆశీర్వాదాలు పొంది మళ్ళీ పల్లకి ఎక్కి ఊరేగుతారు. మా గ్రామంలో వినాయచవితి,కార్తీకమాసంలో, ధనుర్మాసంలో, నవరాత్రులు, భోగి పండుగ, కృష్ణాష్టమి, మహాశివరాత్రి మొదలగు పర్వదినాలలో పూజలు, భజనలు, కోలాటాలు, దేముళ్ల ఊరేగింపులు నిర్వహిస్తారు. మా గ్రామానికి వచ్చినవారిని అందరిని సాదరంగా ఆదరిస్తారు మా గ్రామ ప్రజలు.నూతనంగా మా. శ్రీ జనార్ధన స్వామివారి గుడిలో 16 అడుగుల గరుడాళ్వార్ విగ్రహం భక్తులు నిర్మించారు. అందరూ బాగుండాలి అందులో మేముండాలEdit below overview about Paturu
