OverView of Melseeshamangalam
Meseeshamangalam is a one of the famous village in the temple. It is popular for Rice, Sugarcane, Ground Nut, Milk Productions, Hand looms Productions, Fishing and Silk sarees.Once, there was a huge temple in the village and there was a Bhramin couple living beside the temple compound. Bhramin man only had rights to enter in the God's room (Karuvarai) for making the "Pujas" and his spouse standing outside for assist him. It was their unavoidable, major routine work in the early mornings.
One day, That Brahmin lady plucked the flowers and saves water for Pooja. But, still her husband didn’t wakes up because as he suffered in heavy fever and unable to make Poojas. However, everyday worship must to be done. Meanwhile, no one has rights to enter the God's Room except him (He only the Bhramin lived in this village).
Now, the sun has to be raises. As she knew the importance of everyday Poojas, she herself decided to make Puja to the God with hard hearted (Note that, Women’s enter was prohibited).
When she was doing Puja, one common man saw that a lady is inside the God's room. Suddenly, he locked the temple outside, and called the villagers. Meanwhile, at inside the temple, she was afraid; weeps and worship towards the god with soul hearted.
After few minutes, when the people was open the temple with angry eyes; they saw a Bhramin man instead of that lady and shocked the crowed. People believe that, it was happening by the God's Grace.
This Miracle moment was named as "Shree-Purusha-Mangalam" to this village.
Meaning and Clarifications:
Shree = Woman;
Purusha = Man;
Mangalam = Happiness.
(Woman changed into Man which was the happiest phenomena)
In tamil, " Penn Aanaaga Maariya Mangala Nigazhvu".

Site seeing in the Melseeshamangalam: Ancient Temples with big size and older statues is there in Melseeshamangalam Village. viz, Perumal Kovil, Sivan Kovil (three), Ponni amman Kovil, Mariyamman Kovil and etc.,
There is a lake which has large in size and we may buy the big size (up to 8 kg) fishes in season times.
This Village has so many interesting stories (myth?!) about the location. i.e., “Broken Lake and a Dalit”, “Cow and its owner”, and also “A Bhramin Couple in the Village”.
More over than, another important thing is a “Road with thousands of Speed Breakers” is there from Arni to Munugapet (Melseeshamangalam is located between Arni and Munugapattu). Of course, this type of road, u never saw in your life. Still the famous “Pachaiyamman Temple” is located beside the village this road has very worst from as early as to till now.
In Positive approach, Another significance fact of this village, “Dalit personalities is more educated and settled than non-Dalit fellows of the village. (For the kind information, I(M.Venkatesan) am the First M.Phil Scholar (in 2003-04, it may also be the Last); and only person entered in the University departments in non-Dalits of this village.)
