OverView of Gopalapuram
Gopalapuram was given as a gift by a local king to his court jester basis a bet. The king one day joked that any person brave enough to run across the land with a burning Iron oven on his head would get the area he / she would cover. The court jester ran and circled approx 500 acres which was later gifted to him by the king. This person was the Great Grand Father of Madduri Radha Krishna Murthy who served 15 years as a sarpanch (Unanimously Unapposed).
The main occupation of the villagers was farming till late 1990s, Post which Pisciculture gained prominence. Currently about 50 of the land area of Gopalapuram is Farming while rest of the land area is under Fisheries.
The village is extremely tranquil and peaceful. Life typically starts with a Rooster's Cuckoo around 6:00AM and end with the sunset around 7:00PM.
People still use the eartern stoves for cooking food. The first Television came to the house of M.R.K Murthy in 1986 and the first land line in 1988 and the first electricity connection in 1980 :)

He improve the water pump lines for facilitating the crops improvement. He organized the program of serve as dividing the land for the proper people and maintain the borders for the village.
