Goriya are a jat clan found mainly in Haryana and U.P.They are said to derive their name from there.There are many types of castes in Goriya village such as Jat,Ahir,Brahmin,SC,ST and others.Highest number of people are from Jat community,then Ahirs are also in much number.Jats have Gotras Bhuker and Bhakar.some Brahmins are of Shandilya gotra.The main occupation of the people is agriculture.The economy of the village mainly depend on the farming.Other professions of villagers are teaching,engineering and defence services.Mostly people are educated.Goriya village is now going towards modernisation.After 10+2,students go outside in different reputed universities and catch good job.There are many officer rank holder in this village.One of them is IAS officer.
