The history of Shahjahanpur started when one of Shenshah Shahjahan's begum was looted by a community of Gurjar's on her way . After hearing about this Badshah became full of rage and planned the end of the Gurjars from there.

Gurjars were a shepherd community they were quite healthy men of physique but lacked presence of mind. They were hungry of tasty food , the Badshah found this out and invited them far a royal meal . The Gurjars as expected jumped into the opportunity but they didn't know was they were going towards their doom . The Shenshah ordered to poison the food, every single men there died . The only one of the community who didn't died was pregnant women who had gone to his father's house.

After all this the king availed many facilities at the place and asked the neighbouring village men to settle there . Mostly the Yadav's from Chobara migrated. And so the name was given to the village.

Shahjahanpur played a noticeable role in the British Raj too. The recruitment centre for the imperial army was here .

After all this Shahjahanpur has many structures which demands at least a brief glance like the Raisar talab in which the maid-servents of duren bathed ( it is big that many elephants can be in it )(it was known to have waved the water ,comming from the hills through 'nalla' and after through a tunnel , to Rewari) . Shahjahanpur is filled of things like that from beutiful temples to the biggest market nearby.
